John, we're going to have a long talk after this. (I clear my throat) Time Pilots, you must navigate the Chronoskimmer through 8 different events in the history of telecommunications, starting with the most recent event and ending it with the least recent event. The Time Pilot who does it will go on to chase Carmen and Scar Greynolt in the Trail of Time. Here is your flight plan! (my box goes into the center of a grid of nine) The first North American transcontinental telephone calling.... (ping) The Verizon "Test Man" advertising campaign is launched on television..... (ping) ARPANET is established.... (ping) The first mobile (cellular) phone network is formed.... (ping).... The first trans-Atlantic telegraph cable is made.... (ping) The first telegram is sent.... (ping) The world's first public videophone network is established.... (ping) and telephony via lightbeam photophones is introduced. (ping)That is your flight plan, Time Pilots. Good luck on your journey! First North American transcontinental telephone calling Verizon "Test Man" campaign launched ARPANET is established First mobile (cellular) phone network First trans-Atlantic telegraph cable The first telegram is sent World's first public videophone network Telephony via lightbeam photophones is introduced

Correct again, Jon! That happened in 1880, and you are two events away from the Trail of Time. Next event.

That's right, and in one fell swoop you have SAVED HISTORY! And since you navigated it perfectly in one turn, I'm gonna give you some more dough as a bonus....1,000 greenbacks added to your check courtesy of our great Chiefy-wiefy. Now Jon, we need you to press the loot release bar in order to bring the loot back to it's proper place in history. (Jon does so, and suddenly the loot is sucked down a funnel, as the screen reads "LOOT RESTORED".) Now, before we continue forward, James, you have played an excellent game, and you're leaving us with a check for 2,200 dollars! And not only that, good ol' Greg's gonna give you some great gifts.

Time Pilot, you've done an admirable job providing backup to Jon. That's why I'm going to upgrade your arsenal with the ACME TimeNet Travel Pack. Plus, you'll be getting this new, advanced technology from our friends at Google. Now you can communicate with the Internet via natural language voice commands. That gives you a definite edge over Carmen and her cronies. Congratulations, Time Pilot. Eye salute you. As for you, John and Jon... we have the information, and I am now processing the warrant. (I type in a few commands on my console)

Alright, when we come back, we'll get our orders, the warrant, and Jon will be one step away from getting an awesome prize package from our friends at Google, so don't go anywhere.
(Cheers and applause, show logo, fade out; commercial break)

(fade in, instrumental variation of theme song)
Alright. We're back with Jon and right now, we're receiving the official warrant to place them under arrest. However, we're going to be going into the Trail of Time. The coordinates are set (the warrant is printed out of the computer as I tear off the paper) Alright, let's enter in the warrant so we can access the warping pod. (I insert the warrant a la Inspector Gadget, i.e. similar to the intro of the show)
Chronoskimmer CPU: Warrant accepted. You now have official authority to place Scar Greynolt and Carmen Sandiego, prepare to enter warping pod. (The doors to the pod open up as both Jon and I enter)
John: Alright Jon, you ready?
Jon: Yeah!
John: Alright then, let's arrest those lowlifes and get back before the game!
Jon: What game?
John (sighs): Oh, forget it. (I pull the lever as both Jon and myself teleport to our destination)

(This sequence starts in the Engine Room, where the Engine Crew sings and dances using only the most modern of choreography. I'm talking Broadway-level, folks.) (skip to 0:21)Engine Crew: (singing) We're on the case and we're chasing her through history!
Chrono Skimmer, engine's hot. Vile villains, evil plot. Our brave squadron leader will help us defeat her, And bring back the loot to its rightful place in time.
(We move to the Trail of Time where the Engine Crew does their thing. We cut away to see Scar Greynolt and Carmen Sandiego sneaking and squirming out of sight.) Engine Crew: (singing) Tell me, where in time is Carmen Sandiego?
Stop her crime, and solve this mystery. Tell me, where in time is Carmen Sandiego? We're on the case and we're chasing her through history!
(As John and Jon arrive, the Engine Crew continues to somersault, back flip, whatever it is that they do, with great enthusiasm and agility.)

(We run to the Capture Crystal in it's holster, as the Engine Crew come to meet us)
Alright Jon, we are here at the Trail of Time. As you can see we have 6 gates, starting with the Ancient Egyptian gate all the way to a modern electronic gate. Once you arrive at the gate, you will hit the button on your side and listen to the question Carmen gives you along with two possible answers for each question. Get it right, and you'll advance, get it wrong, and a device will trigger at the gate and you'll be forced to wait an extra 3 seconds. If you manage to get 3 questions correct, you'll capture Scar Greynolt, but if you get all 6, you'll energize this Capture Crystal and will be able to capture Carmen herself. Alright, let's get you ready and put 90 seconds on the clock (ding). Alright Jon, let's move on.
TIME: 90
(Jon first runs to the Ancient Egyptian arch, hitting the side button; TIME: 87)
It's the early 1980's. What revolutionary system is created to link hosts to numerical addresses on computers? SMTP or DNS?

Carmen: Correct. (Gate unlocks; Time: 80)
Alright, run to the next station. (Jon runs as the Engine Crew lead him to a Roman-style gate, as he hits the button; TIME: 77)
Carmen: It's 1962. What communications satellite is launched from the Thor-Delta rocket? Telstar or Comstar?

Carmen: Correct. TIME: 70.5
Alright, move on to the next station. (Jon runs toward the next station, TIME: 68)
Carmen: It's 1893. Guglielmo Marconi claimed Nikola Tesla copied his invention for what form of telegraphy? Optical or wireless?
