This could get a vote for most obscure game show revival. Say When! was a game show from the 1960s where two players take turns picking prizes to reach a target goal. If either player goes over the goal, s/he loses and the other player keeps the prizes won. If one player comes within $250, they have the option to freeze by saying "Say When". This forces the other player to keep picking until the s/he goes over the freeze total or surpasses the goal. The game is played best two out of three. The only thing I'm changing is the $250-window. With inflation in mind, I'm bumping it to $1,000. I'm also highly considering adding a bonus round for the champion. I need two players. Who wants to try this out?

Thank you, James. Let's see if we can get you some nice prizes.
Here's how the game works. You two are going to pick prizes and come as close as you can to our target without going over. We play this in a best of three match and the winner will play our bonus round for perhaps even more. Why don't we see what our first target is...
*ding*
[$4,000]
It's $4,000. Now, if you come within $1,000 of the target, then on your next turn, you could tell me "Say when!" instead of picking a prize. At that point you will freeze with your current bank an your opponent will have to beat your score while trying to avoid going over the goal.
I will ask the two of you to take a look at the first four prizes of the match...
[COUCH][WINE COOLER] [ESPRESSO MACHINE][LAPTOP]
We have a couch, a wine cooler, an espresso machine and a laptop. Our announcer, Bob Hilton, will tell you about those four prizes right now...
Bob: First, from Design Toscano, this Hawthrone Fainting Couch features an old-style charm for all your comforting needs. It's upholstered by hand in a warm taupe with a solid wood construction and it comes with a throw pillow.
Second, this Golden-Vantage wine cooler includes storage room for up to 32 of your favorite wines. It comes with a digital control to keep your wines reasonably chilled and eight customizable chrome shelves.
Moving on is this Breville BES870XL Barista Express Espresso Machine. Enjoy economical coffee with the feel of having a barista in your own home. Includes digital temperature control, hot water outlet and impressive steam pressure
And finally, take work and play to the next level with this Dell Inspiron 15 7000! It comes with a 6th gen Intel® Core™ i5 processor, Windows 10 Home and the latest NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M graphics card.
Once one of those prizes is picked, we'll replace it with a new prize. Keep in mind, there will never be a prize worth more than $4,000 in this game.
We had a coin toss to determine who would pick first and Billy, you won. Pick one of those four prizes.

One thousand and ninety-three dollars! Not a bad start for you.
[JAMES][$0] [BILLY][$1,093]
Billy, before your first pick, we'll replace that couch with another prize...
[FIREPLACE][WINE COOLER] [ESPRESSO MACHINE][LAPTOP]
Tell us about this fireplace, Bob.
Bob: It's SpectraFire Builder's 39 in. Vent-Free Electric Fireplace insert which promises long, cozy winter nights and will keep you comfortable. It features three wiring options to your liking and a fixed tempered glass front.
James, pick one of those four prizes.

[TIDE (1-100)][WINE COOLER] [ESPRESSO MACHINE][LAPTOP]
It's a Blank Check for Tide detergent! Bob?
Bob: One box of Tide, good for 68 loads of wash. Save energy and water with Tide, formulated to work with either top or front-loading washing machines. Your Tide is showing.
Me: Let me explain how the Blank Check works. If you pick the Tide detergent, it's a 95-ounce box and you will write the check for anywhere from 1 to 100 boxes. The total will be rounded to the nearest dollar and added to your score. With that in mind, what suits your fancy, Billy?

Bob: The Lobster Elite Freedom Ball Machine allows you to return tennis serves like a pro. It features a large capacity and serves tennis balls at speeds of up to 70 miles an hour along with 50 degrees of lobbing angles.
Pick your next prize, James.

We're going to begin our second round here on Say When! James is one round away from winning, Billy needs this round to force sudden death. Gentlemen, here is your goal for this second round of play...
[$7,500]
This time you're looking to reach $7,500 in prizes. Let's take a look at the first four prizes for this round:
[RANGE][ORGAN] [CAPZASIN HP (1-100)][COMPACTOR]
There they are and here's Bob to tell us about them.
Bob: First, Whirlpool presents this stainless steel slide-in electric range. It measures 28 7/8 inches across and comes with smooth-top electric burners, a self-cleaning oven and convection mode.
Next is this brand-new Hammond SK1 88, an 88-Key professional digital organ for the musician in you. It's programmed for nine drawbars and it also features a sound generator and an equalizer.
Third, a blank check for Capzasin HP. Use Capzasin HP for backache, strains, sprains along with pain from arthritis. Its deep-penetrating formula sooths all aches and it's odor free.
Finally, the Kenmore 1.4 cubic foot trash compactor has enough capacity to compress you large and bulky trash items with ease. Crush four trash bags into one and cut back on your garbage output.
Me: A word about that Capzasin HP. The Blank Check is for anywhere from 1-100 1.5-ounce tubes. Billy, since you lost the last round, you have the privilege of going first. Which of those four prizes would you like?
