This morning NFL legend and original member of the Monday Night Football group died this morning at the age of 85 by natural causes. I grew up watching him when it was on and did remember him during a few Super Bowls. I know he is better than some of these ones that I see now and will never forget him.

Condolences to Kathie Lee, Cassidy and Cody and to all Frank's family and friends. He was a legend, both as an athlete and as a broadcaster.
Sad to think all of the original Monday Night Football crew have now passed away, Howard Cosell in 1995, Dandy Don Meredith in 2005 and Frank in 2015. Interesting each one is 10 years apart from the other.
Keith Jackson, who was in the booth during MNF's inaugural season in 1970 is still with us. Gifford replaced Keith in 1971. Keith was far better suited by far for college football...Whoa Nellie!

Sad to hear, indeed. My favorite MNF crew was Frank along with Al Michaels and Dan Dierdorf. I always thought those three worked best together in terms of football commentators. This was back when my 49ers had Joe Montana at the helm. Those were the days!
Rest in peace, Mr. Gifford.
