Eh-oh, everybody. Sergio Roman here.
I think some of you might be sleeping, or working, or styding or maybe waiting for any. However: I've got breaking news: The Rules of "Cash Trapped: Disney Edition" are finally here!
Gameplay
Six contestants compete through four rounds on each episode. All six remain on the show until one of them successfully "escapes" in the final round.
Round 1: LAST ONE STANDING (Toss-Up Questions and Multiple-Choice Questions: Disney Questions)
The contestants start with $1,000 in the bank and they have to build up their money by answering a series of Disney Toss-Up Questions on the buzzer (As always using buzzcodes from 1 to 100). A correct answer would earn $250 and the chance to freeze out someone (aka KO); but a wrong answer would will incur a $100 penalty and freezing that contestant instead. If someone gets the Magic Number Number on the nose, and answers that question correctly, wins a $500 bonus. The last remaining contestant chooses one category from a board of six and is asked a Multiple-Choice Disney Question with six answer options. A correct answer awards $2,500 and allows the contestant to "cash trap" (aka OUT) one opponent, eliminating them from play for the rest of the round, but a miss will instead subtract $200 from their bank and cash trap them instead.
Each category is removed from the board once it has been used, and the frozen contestants are then reinstated. The process continues until all six categories are gone; the last contestant standing plays the final category without the need for a toss-up, but there's one chance to choose the correct answer for an additional $2,500.
Round 2: HEAD-TO-HEAD (Toss-Up Questions and Multiple-Choice Questions: Disney Questions)
All six contestants are reinstated and given $2,000 to start with. A Disney Toss-Up Question is asked, and a correct answer earns $500 and allows the contestant to choose one category from a new board of six categories and challenges an opponent. If a contestant misses a Toss-Up, that person will loses $300 and must sit it out. If someone gets the Magic Number Number on the nose, and answers that question correctly, wins a $1,000 bonus. Once an opponent is chosen. They alternate selecting answers to another Disney Question from a group of six answers, starting with the winner of the toss-up. Any wrong answer will deduct $400 from that contestant and their opponent will get the chance to answer and so on, until someone selects the correct answer, whoever gives the correct answer will add $5,000 into their bank, and cash trapping their opponent,
As in Round 1, each category is removed from play after being used. The last contestant standing receives a question in the final category alone and has one chance to choose the correct answer for an additional $5,000.
Round 3: CATCH-UP (Quick-Fire Questions: General Knowledge)
All six contestants are reinstated again and given $3,000 to start with, and each contestant has 60 seconds to answer as many Quick-fire General Knowledge Questions as possible, winning $1,000 per correct answer, losing $500 per wrong answer and earn nothing with a "Pass". They play in ascending order of their scores at the end of Round 2.
At the end of the round, the players are awarded with some bonus: $2,000 for the first place, $1,500 for the second place, $1,000 for the third place, $750 for the fourth place, $500 for the fifth place and $250 for the sixth place.
In the event of a tie going into this round, the contestant who has banked the lowest total in previous shows (see below) plays first.
Round 4: THE ESCAPE (Quick-Fire Questions: General Knowledge)
The high scorer after Round 3 is dubbed the day's "escapee" and has a chance to win their total, consisting of both that day's winnings in addition to any bonus and money previously banked (see below). The clock is set to 20 questions, contestants are asked a series of quick-fire questions on the buzzer. The escapee has three lives, and 1 additional life for every $10,000 in the escapee's bank (The day's total, NOT their overall), while his/her opponents only have one life. Each correct answer by the escapee allows him/her to earn a $500 bonus and cash trap any opponent, but a miss will deduct $250 from his bank and also one of the lifes. A correct answer by an opponent has no effect except for the question used to answer and a $250 bonus for the correct answer, but a miss causes them to lose $100 from their bank and by losing their "One and only" life they become cash trapped.
If the escapee cash traps all five opponents before running out of questions or losing all his/her lifes, they win their total and their additional bonus and the others receive nothing, except any bonus. All six leave the show, and six new contestants are brought in for the next episode. If no more questions are asked and/or the escapee loses all his/her lives, all six contestants return for the next episode, with the escapee's bank reset to zero. The totals of the opponents are banked; upon reaching the Escape Round, each contestant's banked total is added to their winnings from that day to determine the overall money they have at stake.
